How incredibly fortunate are those who are loved by a golden retriever to be able to participate in, and often excel, in so many venues? I believe it is not only possible, but should be commonplace, to easily access a golden who is not only beautiful to look at, clearly in agreement with our breed standard in terms of structure, but one who also is a pleasure to compete in nearly any sport we choose, with natural abilities and drive, is a pleasure to live with and just their mere presence brings those around them a sense of comfort.
And yes - all in just one fluffy package.
I do not believe, and therefore heavily advocate against, the all too commonly proposed theory surrounding our breeds divide between conformation and field goldens, that if a golden is pretty, they are not biddable, and if they excel in performance, they are destined to deviate from our breed standard's prescribed structure. And to those exceptional dogs who were either bred by or who called LittleBitta home, who have earned the titles to prove otherwise – this is the page dedicated to you.
